Product Details

A chance to own this vintage tin box by George Bassett & Co., a British confectionery company known for inventing Liquorice Allsorts in 1899. The box features a rural scene embossed on the lid, depicting a farmer plowing a field with horses. It has a small drawer at the bottom and decorative borders with a copper finish.

What makes it charming is the lockable drawer to the front of the box. Sadly, there is no key with this particular item.

It is difficult to determine the exact date of this tin box. However, the Bassett company, known for its sweets and the iconic Liquorice Allsorts, was founded in 1842, and its first factory opened in Sheffield in 1852. This tin could potentially date back to the late 19th or early 20th century, given its vintage appearance.

Condition is commensurate with age and wear and tear.

Size: approximately 19cm long x 10cm wide x 7cm depth.
