The basket was made in England as part of the Lancelot Plate range and dates to around the 1950s/60s. We haven't been able to find much information about Lancelot Plate but the brand is primarily seen on tableware, often of pierced designs and dating to the mid-century period.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents, no damage to the pierced sections and no significant plate loss, just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time.
